Let’s consider how a typical wind farm operates. A SCADA system is used to monitor and remotely control the turbines, operational parameters, energy output, and integration with the power grid. But to control the wind turbines, it needs to communicate using more traditional IT components like routers and switches.

Paessler PRTG OPC UA Server is a separately licensed product extension of the monitoring software PRTG Network Monitor.
It works as an industrial converter that converts PRTG monitoring data and alarms to OPC UA and provides supervisory and control systems (SCADA, DCS, MES, HMI) with business-critical monitoring data about IT and OT network components, making them the central endpoint for alarms from both the production floor and IT network components.
You can only use the extension together with an active PRTG Network Monitor subscription or a perpetual license.
Paessler PRTG OPC UA Server offers a free 30-day trial subscription that includes an unlimited number of OPC UA nodes as well as the full feature set of the Professional subscription of PRTG OPC UA Server. If your trial period expires, you need to purchase one of the commercial PRTG OPC UA Server subscriptions.
