PRTG Data Hub: Advanced log forwarder

Paessler PRTG Data Hub is a separately licensed product extension for Paessler PRTG, functioning as an advanced log forwarding tool for Windows and Linux systems (currently available for Linux, with Windows support coming soon). It acts as a powerful network message relay and event log forwarder, filtering and transmitting syslog data and SNMP traps to various destinations, including PRTG and other endpoints. This extension helps organizations improve their log analysis and forwarding processes, enhance monitoring capabilities, and meet strict compliance requirements.

For all PRTG licenses up from 2500 and PRTG Enterprise Monitor one subscription of PRTG Data Hub is included. For other license types, a free 30-day trial is available, featuring all product extension capabilities. After the trial, continued use requires a subscription. Pricing varies based on your current PRTG license, with the option to add PRTG Data Hub as a separate extension for licenses below 2500 sensors.

An extension of Paessler PRTG is a separately licensed software product that expands the functionality of the core PRTG monitoring software. These extensions, like PRTG Data Hub, are designed to work seamlessly with PRTG to provide additional capabilities or address specific monitoring needs, such as advanced log forwarding and analysis. To use a PRTG extension, you must have an active PRTG  subscription.

In PRTG, “sensors” are the basic monitoring elements. One sensor usually monitors one measured value in your network, for example the traffic of a switch port, the CPU load of a server, or the free space on a disk drive. On average, you need about 5-10 sensors per device or one sensor per switch port.
